Supporting a Multi-Site Hotel Group with a Virtual Finance Office

Client Overview

The owners of Moxy, a growing hotel group operating several branded properties, approached ViFi after their finance function had become increasingly stretched.

Running a hotel is operationally complex. Revenue flows through multiple departments, including rooms, bar, restaurant and events, with daily financial activity coming through Opera, the hotel management system used across their sites.

Each day the team were reviewing night audit reports and daily revenue summaries, but there was no structured process in place to reconcile this operational data into the accounts.

While Opera provided detailed operational information, the group lacked a finance function capable of turning that data into reliable financial reporting.

The Challenge

As the hotel group expanded, their finance function became increasingly stretched.
  • Daily revenue data and night audit reports needed extracting and posted into the accounts
  • Departmental revenues across rooms, bar and restaurant were not being consistently reconciled
